What's next for the two year-old??
He started a really puzzling, irritating, annoying thing today. I really hope it won't last because I don't have the physical abilities to deal with this demand of his. What is it?
He refuses to step on the toilet floor and shriek when his feet get wet and wail and shout for us to..
"NAK LAP KAKI GIB-BAN!!!!!!! LAP KAKI BAN!!!".. insisting for us to wipe his feet dry.
What on earth la!
Earlier tonight when we took him in for his before-bedtime-pee, he refused to even step into the toilet and shrieked; "Nak Baba dukung Ban masuk!!! Dukung Ban!!!! Taknak pijakkkkkkk!!"
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Geram and tension, ok!
Geram because I have no idea what triggered this, and tension because I cannot carry him. So, how to bring him into the toilet too pee/poo???
He had to walk into the toilet on his own earlier this evening (because H wasn't at home and the maid was downstairs, indisposed because her leg was aching; that's another story), so I told him; "Come on Gibran, I can't carry you, remember? Mummy sakit belakang. Kan doctor potong belakang Mummy dah dua kali?!"
Alhamdulillah, being a reasonably-reasonable boy that he is, he reluctantly walked into the toilet, climbed the stool and sat on the toilet seat. Then he started shrieking away;
"LAP KAKI BAN!!! LAP KAKI BAN!!!! PLEASE LAP KAKI BAN!!"
Aisey. VERY annoying and irritating. H's theory is that he doesn't like the feeling of wetness on the toilet floor tiles. Go figure!
So what next? Hmff.

Phew! What a phase!
My husband, when he was little, insisted that his plate, cup, and milk bottle were arranged in his preferred pattern, or else, semua orang takkan boleh makan!
Then, there was a friend who insisted that every inch of rice in her plate was covered with just enough soy sauce. Kalau terlebih, nasi baru dalam pinggan baru.
Kids eh. How's Gib doing now?
i do hope it's just another stage dear!
in my case, areya now wants her shoes & sandals clean before she puts it on... she even asked me to remember to wash her shoes after each outing.... sigh.... ingat mommy dia ni robot ke ape.....
biase la..i remember when i was little cannot step on concrete floor, pasir n tanah..geli..mcm klu msk rmh org yg dpn die concrete, bkk kasut then trus step into the house without steeping on the concrete..bile nk keluar i wud either step on anyone's shoes yg dkt ngn pintu as stepping stones to my kasut or mtk papa/mama bwkkn my kasut to the door so i can step in them without stepping on concrete..but that passed after awhile..setahun kot..details kne tnye papa la..heheh
chech; yes, what a phase! the things that he does.. sometimes... like nak cekik-cekikkk aje dia. but of course instead of cekik, i gomol him till he shrieks. heheheheee. the tile thingy is still ongoing today. boring betol.
anis; hahahha! too cute la! when it happens to another toddler who's not yours, rasa macam cute aje. but when it's your toddler yg act macam-macam... pffftttt.... tension!
Its never ending at the terrible 2 stage kan? I pun dah penat habis sampai i dont wanna even have no. 2 lah! So penat!
angelsixteen; why? why? why must gib be like u? hmff! :p
family first; hahahah ure telling me! they're enough to tire us out! or maybe its the old age catching up with us! hahahahaha kidding!
i too hate getting my feet wet, but as we grow older we learn to deal with it la kan. takde la nak shriek shriek mcm that little shrek of yours :D
my father went to the extent of putting fans inside our bathrooms so that the floors would be dry after each use. hihi
How abt letting him pee outside the toilet? Into a container or mobile potty. Then u can avoid carrying him up to sit on the adult potty. My boy din hv any probs alternating btw a mobile potty n the toilet bowl. Or put a pc of floor mat inside the toilet. So he won't get his feet wet.
anne; your dad did that? hehehehehe thats kinda cute and funny!
slavemom; so far gib doesnt have problems alternating between the adult potty and kiddie potty, but i'm trying to figure out how to let him do his peeing business in the kiddie potty, in the bedroom without splashing about and freaking me out! hehehe
