A Persistant Obsession

We bought Gibran a pair of Optimus Prime pajamas from Giant simply because the pajamas (long-sleeved shirt + pants) are cheaper than the t-shirts. Hehehehhh.. yes we are chepaskates because you never know how long their interests will last! So not worth it to spend lots of money on short-term interests. Anyway, the pajamas were RM17.90 perpair and the t-shirts were priced at RM21.90 each. So I bought the pajamas and cut the sleeves off and sewed the hems. Hand-sew some more because my machine is currently out of order.

Gib's always wearing his Baba's transformers t-shirt so I thought.. what the heck, lets get him one for himself.

Anyways, it's been four days since we got him the top, and he insists on wearing it everyday. EVERYYYYYDAY. So everynight I wash the top and hang it in our air-conditioneed room and it's dry by morning. And in the mornings, the whining and tantrums would start until I finish ironing the blasted top. It's getting so annoying that I've had to resort to threats like; "If you cry some more, I will throw this t-shirt out!!!" ... and "Don't throw a tantrum, Gibran, I do NOT give naughty boys optimus prime t-shirts."

And no, the threats don't work as well as I wish they would.

Yesterday morning he cried till his breath hitched and he couldn't (wouldn't!) stop crying all through breakfast, until I gave him his bath and put on the optimus prime top on him. (Yes he has breakfast before his bath, not after)

I usually just ignore the tantrums and let him play it out till he comes to his senses. But this is tooooo much.

I really do feel like throwing that optimus prime t-shirt into a shredding machine. Never should've bought it in the first place!

My boy has a fav pair of pants. But he's ok if I tell him it's dirty n Kakak has washed them. Gotta wait till they're dry b4 he can wear them again. Maybe u can try showing him the wet shirt hanging outside.
