Sniffle Journal Entry

Tadaaaaaaaaa... we had a hectic weekend and survived it! (Sis-In-Law#1's wedding week). The most important thing is; Gibran got through it without getting ill! ALHAMDULILLAH!! PRAISE GOD ALMIGHTY!

But! He's been having the funniest blocked-nose pattern. Not funny-ha-ha, but funny/weird/odd. Let me jot down the pattern of his nose-block before yours truly forgets...

Sunday 10/06/06; Parents-in-law had a makan-makan at their house for a pre-wedding meeting, and Gib went, had a ball (he was truly entertained by his second cousin, Idraki's cries. Sorry Drakey...it really kept Gib amused! Keciannn Idraki...). That night though, he had a massive blocked nose. Because paed advised against giving him meds (which I totally agree with, unless it is soo necessary!)... I just used saline nose drops to clear his nose when he wakes up to breastfeed.

Monday night... semi-blocked. But slept better.

Tuesday night... clearing up. But wants a lot of breastfeeding. Letih!

Wednesday 13/06/06; Dropped off Gibran's Bibik to help out at in-laws', and went in with Gib for about 15 mins. So sekejap ok!!...But the little guy left sniffling coz maybe it's a bit dusty?? Dunno la, I'm so lost sometimes. Sniffles sniffles...Massive nose block and the "ehem ehems" that night (like the beginnings of an itchy-throat-cough). But slept okay lah... not TOO bad.

Thursday...nose blocked, itchy-dry-cough. Thursday night mummy sort of "lost it" and had a good crying-session while Baba and our friend Tam listened to mummy's vent-outs of frustration and confusion. Mummy just gets a bit confused about what-is-right and what-is-wrong.. meaning; what should Mummy do to make you healthy, Gib..? Slept okay.. not great, but okay lah. Still have to use saline drops to unblock nose.

Friday 15/06/06.. The night before the wedding, went over to drop off maid to help out sikit-sikit. Couldn't drop maid off earlier in the day coz had interviews and errands to run. Gibran didn't have enough sleep during the day (he doesn't sleep very long with the maid. Still wants to see mummy's face and hears mummy's voice, then he'd sleep!!).. so that night at the in-laws' he was grumpy grumpy grumpy. Cried and cried, didn't even want his Wan (my mom) or his Mama Long (my sister), so had to rush eating and carry him. Aiyo. Anyway, Friday night.. snort snort, nose blocked again!! Massive one, this one. Thought he was falling sick all over again. Hardly got any sleep.

Saturday 16/06/06.. Wedding day. Left Gib in his Bibik's care coz worried he was falling sick.. didn't want to tire him out coz if he's better that night we were planning to bring him to the wedding reception. When I got home, he was okay, but didn't take his morning nap because (big surprise?! no!)...no mummy, no nap! Alamak. So that evening I made sure he napped for a longgg time ..succeed in making him nap for nearly 3 hours (this is rare for Gibran!). He seemed okay so that evening we took him to the reception in Dewan Perdana, KL. He ate a whole steamed-and-mashed apple with about 2 teaspoons of rice cereal while watching the bride and all the aunties get ready! So farnee. Wish I'd taken pictures but because everyone was soo busy peesy, no pictures in the ladies' room (not toilet, room to get ready lah. hehehe.).

Miracle!

After the Saturday night's ball, no sniffles that night! We all slept like logs.

And the sniffles have been been staying away since then (praise God!). Although in the middle of the night sometimes he still snorts snorts. Now, that is weird, yeah? Must ask paed.

Okay that's it for the Sniffle Journal!

Now for pictures.

Here's one with a veryyy amused Gibran being entertained by a crying Idraki. Heheheee... Can you see 13-month old Adam sitting in the background (in green t-shirt)? He ain't that amused coz these kiddies' actions are too immature for him! Huhuhu.. He's probably thinking; "Ish...What is this hal budak-budak kecik?! So bising!"

More pics will be updated soon!

Oh boy...can totally understand how u feel. Glad everything is over now and he is fine. Well, although it's easy to say "take it easy, it is a phase every mom has to go through with sick baby", don't be too hard on urself. Crying it out to release ur tension is good.

Just hope Gib can be stronger soon...

mummy darren; thanks for the supportive words. Really needed to vent out la at that time..sometimes maybe it's the lack of sleep that makes us so emotional? yea i hope and pray that as Gib grows up his immune system will become stronger and stronger!
